What the Role Is
The Marketing Procurement Buyer – Whiskey Portfolio plays a vital role in coordinating inventory and purchasing of point of sale (POS) materials to support the Global Whiskey team at Heaven Hill Brands. This role is responsible for maintaining POS content across internal platforms, managing orders and reorders, processing invoices and purchase orders, and ensuring seamless fulfillment and delivery of marketing materials. The position is highly cross-functional, collaborating with marketing, sales, suppliers, accounts payable, production, and customer service to support brand and promotional initiatives. The Buyer reports directly to the Category Manager, Whiskey Portfolio and takes direction on specific projects from the Marketing Procurement Specialist (MPS) and Senior MPS team.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Maintain and update POS materials for the Global Whiskey portfolio across internal platforms (Sales Resource Site and SAB Site), including content creation, audits, and inventory status.
- Approve and place SRS orders as needed to ensure availability and accuracy of POS materials.
- Manage the reorder process, including print and production tracking in coordination with fulfillment partners.
- Collaborate with the MPS and Senior MPS teams to ensure POS purchases and projects stay within budget and meet strategic objectives.
- Process purchase orders and invoices for Global Whiskey marketing procurement in alignment with internal accounting procedures.
- Evaluate POS inventory levels and usage, determine reorders or disposition of materials, and work with suppliers and fulfillment vendors accordingly.
- Support the planning and execution of special projects such as local market requests, event-based POS, pack-outs, and Private Barrel programs.
Who You Are…
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum 1 year of work-related experience in marketing administration, procurement, or related functions.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable managing logistics, budgets, and timelines across multiple marketing initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- High level of accountability, initiative, and ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
- Comfortable presenting ideas and updates in a group setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor communications and monitor fulfillment processes.
- Skilled at tracking shipping and logistics and resolving order-related inquiries.
- Ability to travel as needed (approximately 5–10%); Valid Driver's License
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working within the distilled spirits or beverage industry.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat).
- Exposure to project management tools such as Smartsheet, Wrike, or similar platforms.
