Job Summary

Own and manage client marketing operations end-to-end across accounts, calendars, briefs, QA, and cross-team coordination, while hands-on executing campaigns in email, SMS, and web platforms.

  • Own client marketing calendars and monthly reviews
  • Lead briefs, QA, and coordination with creatives, developers, and ad leads

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • ~50% hands-on build. You are in the platforms daily. Newsletters and SMS campaigns built from approved templates in Klaviyo or Mailchimp. Landing pages and site content structured in Squarespace, Shopify, or WordPress. Product and collection page optimization. Adapting and resizing existing creative within established template systems. This is a working role, not an oversight role.
  • ~25% client ownership. You are the point of contact on your accounts. You own the marketing calendar, run the working sessions with each client’s operations people, and co-lead the monthly client review alongside the founder. You absorb direction and feedback, translate it into a dated plan, and follow through. You write the emails that keep a client confident that things are moving.
  • ~25% creative direction, QA, and internal coordination. You do not originate design — but you do direct it. You write the brief that tells the creative lead what to build, for whom, against what objective, inside what brand constraints, at what platform specs. Then you QA what comes back before it reaches a client or a live campaign. You hand off to the developer when something needs code, to the advertising lead when something needs media, and to the founder when something needs strategy. Knowing which of those a request belongs to — and briefing it well — is the core skill of this job.
  • What you will own. Client accounts and communication; Own and maintain each client’s marketing calendar; keep it aligned with the client’s direction, promotions, and seasonality; Run recurring working sessions with each client’s operations people, and co-lead the monthly client review with the founder; Turn client feedback into dated, assigned action items — and close the loop on every one; Flag scope, timeline, and budget issues early rather than absorbing them quietly.
  • Creative direction and QA. Translate a client objective into a creative brief the creative lead can execute against: the asset, the audience, the message, the brand constraints, the platform specs, and the deadline; Know each brand well enough to judge whether an asset is on voice, not just on palette; Know the specs — Meta and Google ad formats, email module dimensions, web and e-commerce image requirements — well enough to catch an error before a client sees it; QA every asset against the brief, the brand, and the platform requirement before it deploys. You are the last set of eyes; Adapt and resize within established template systems; escalate to the creative lead when something genuinely needs original design.
  • Email and SMS marketing. Build, proof, schedule, and send email campaigns in Klaviyo and Mailchimp; Execute SMS campaigns for the accounts where SMS is in scope; respect consent, cadence, and compliance requirements; Update and adapt approved HTML templates; manage lists, segments, and basic automations; Write and edit campaign copy in each brand’s voice; source assets from clients ahead of deadline; Report on performance and recommend the next iteration.
  • Website and e-commerce. Publish and maintain pages, landing pages, blog posts, and promotional content on Squarespace, Shopify, and WordPress; Structure content for clarity and conversion; apply on-page SEO basics; Handle e-commerce housekeeping: product and collection pages, merchandising updates, promo setup; Triage site issues and route anything structural to the developer with a clear description.
  • Social media. Build monthly content calendars and batch-produce posts across client brands; Schedule, publish, and monitor engagement; route customer service questions to the client.

Requirements

  • Multi-account execution experience. Three or more years running marketing execution for several clients or brands simultaneously — agency side, in-house across multiple brands, or a serious freelance book.
  • Hands-on platform fluency. Real working depth in at least one major email platform (Klaviyo or Mailchimp strongly preferred) and at least one CMS (Squarespace, Shopify, or WordPress). You can show us something you personally built.
  • Creative direction and QA. You have briefed designers and been accountable for what came back — you know how to specify an asset, and you catch brand and platform-spec errors before they ship. Show us a brief you wrote, or be ready to write one.
  • Client-facing ownership. You have run recurring meetings with business owners or marketing directors and been the person accountable for the answer — not the person taking notes.
  • Native-level written English. You will write client-facing emails and US consumer-facing copy daily. Idiom matters as much as grammar.
  • Pacific time zone availability. We are San Diego based, with team and clients from Hawaii to the mainland. You do not need to sit at a desk from nine to five — our operations manager starts between 7:00 and 9:00 AM and breaks through the day — but Pacific time has to be your working day: reachable across it, and available for client meetings that can run to 3:00 or 4:00 PM PT.

Benefits

  • Onboarding: 4–8 weeks of paid, hands-on training with our operations manager. She is not leaving i9media.
