Job Description

Responsibilities

  • - Develop, research, write, and edit content that advances the strategic priorities of the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.
  • - Create and manage a variety of communications materials, including reports, presentations, newsletters, news releases, executive messaging, website content, and other multimedia communications.
  • - Support strategic communications planning and execution for university-wide initiatives, programs, and priorities.
  • - Oversee and maintain web content for the Office of the Provost, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, current, and aligned with institutional branding and messaging standards.
  • - Assist with the planning, coordination, logistics, and execution of events, meetings, and special initiatives led by the Provost's Office.
  • - Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, summaries, project briefs, and other materials to support effective collaboration, decision-making, and project execution.
  • - Collaborate with colleagues across Academic Affairs and university units to develop integrated communications and marketing approaches that support institutional goals.
  • - Monitor project progress and deliverables, maintaining organized records and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • - Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
  • • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
  • • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree; • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree; • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
  • • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
  • • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Preferred

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, mass communications, graphic design, journalism, or other related field; OR a high school diploma and 5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft programs, web content management skills, and project management experience would be a plus.
