Own the content lifecycle for client proposals and thought leadership, from research and strategy to final copy and visuals.

  • Own proposal narrative and executive summaries by collaborating with SMEs to capture framework, differentiation, and client fit.
  • Build reusable content library and boilerplates to speed future bids and ensure consistency across pursuits.
  • Coordinate with marketing, graphics, and BD to translate strategy into visuals, presentations, and market-ready materials.

Job Description

Responsibilities - Serve as the primary writer responsible for researching, organizing, drafting, and developing proposal content, including executive summaries, technical approaches, project descriptions, management plans, pricing narratives, and other critical pursuit materials. - Lead the development of clear, compelling, and client-focused proposal responses by interviewing and collaborating with technical subject matter experts to capture the right strategy, solution, and differentiators. - Participate in proposal strategy sessions and ask insightful questions to help shape winning solutions and messaging. - Provide guidance to technical contributors regarding content structure, organization, and proposal best practices. - Write, review, edit, and refine proposal content to ensure consistency, clarity, compliance, persuasive messaging, and alignment with client requirements. - Participate in proposal reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to strengthen proposal messaging and overall quality. - Develop and maintain proposal content libraries, reusable boilerplate materials, project descriptions, resumes, and technical narratives. - Coordinate with proposal teams and subconsultants to collect, review, and integrate technical content into final submissions. - Collaborate with marketing and graphics staff to develop visuals, infographics, process diagrams, and presentation materials that enhance proposal effectiveness. - Assist in the development of interview presentations, client presentations, and other business development materials. - Support thought leadership initiatives through the development of articles, white papers, blog posts, case studies, and other marketing content. - Continuously identify opportunities to improve proposal quality, content organization, and business development processes. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Technical Writing, Business, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, journalism, grant writing, communications, or related professional writing roles. - Minimum 5–7 years of experience developing proposals, qualifications packages, technical content, or business development materials within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), Environmental, or Professional Services industries preferred. - Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities. - Experience interviewing technical subject matter experts and translating complex information into compelling, client-focused content. - Strong understanding of proposal development processes and best practices. - Experience supporting public-sector and/or private-sector pursuits including RFQs, RFPs, SOQs, and interview presentations. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint. - Experience with Adobe InDesign and proposal production software preferred. - Experience with CRM and proposal management systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint preferred. - Knowledge of APMP, Shipley, or similar proposal development methodologies preferred. - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional proposal teams. - Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, content management systems, and emerging technologies to improve proposal development efficiency and content quality is preferred.
