Job Introduction
The Lead Product Learning Expert is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving the strategy, design, and execution of impactful learning experiences that enable internal teams, customers, and partners to successfully engage with Tekion’s products. This role leads major learning initiatives, mentors peers, and collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure content is scalable, accessible, and aligned with product and business objectives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale product learning programs across multiple
formats (eLearning, ILT, VILT, microlearning)
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Enablement teams to align learning strategy
with product launches and updates
• Conduct needs analyses, define learning objectives, and create learner-centric solutions
that improve product understanding and adoption
• Drive continuous improvement of training effectiveness through data, feedback, and
research
• Support localization, scalability, and integration of learning content across platforms
and teams
• Mentor junior and mid-level learning experts, contributing to knowledge sharing and
design quality
• Champion learning accessibility, consistency, and innovation across the organization
• Job Complexity: Manages large-scale, high-impact learning initiatives that require
strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and deep product understanding
• Required Supervision: Operates independently and is trusted to lead major initiatives
and guide team learning standards
• Expertise: Advanced expertise in instructional design, product enablement, and digital
learning; viewed as a subject matter expert within the function
Basic Qualifications
Training Facilitation & Product Proficiency Focus
6–8 years delivering instructor-led, virtual instructor-led (VILT), or hands-on product training in enterprise software or SaaS environments
Demonstrated mastery of 2+ complex enterprise platforms or solutions (particularly CRM, ERP, DMS, or similar systems), including ability to troubleshoot and train across multiple modules
Proven track record delivering training to diverse audiences (end-users, administrators, system owners) across fast-paced product launch or go-live scenarios
Strong ability to translate technical product capabilities into clear, relevant learning for different learner personas and experience levels
Required Technical & Product Competencies:
Expert-level proficiency in Tekion DMS platform, CRM, or related automotive retail software (or demonstrated ability to rapidly master complex industry-specific systems)
Hands-on experience with VILT delivery platforms (Zoom, WebEx, GoToTraining, or similar) and ability to facilitate engaging virtual sessions
Comfort troubleshooting product issues during live training and coaching participants through workflows in real time
Working knowledge of LMS platforms and ability to support content management and learner tracking systems
Understanding of enterprise software configuration, user roles, permissions, and how product changes impact end-user workflows
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience training across multiple product domains or functional areas (e.g., both front-office and back-office systems)
Exposure to agile or rapid-release product environments where training must adapt quickly to feature releases
Background in automotive dealership operations or industry-specific software (DMS, CRM, point-of-sale systems)
Experience mentoring or coaching junior trainers on delivery excellence and product expertise
Required Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Education, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Ability to obtain/maintain product certification or advanced proficiency badges as required by role
