Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sureel's marketing function end-to-end, including category strategy, positioning, messaging, product marketing, demand generation, thought leadership, brand, and execution.
  • Own product marketing across the Sureel stack, translating technical capabilities into clear value propositions, use cases, differentiation, and messaging for each customer segment.
  • Create sales and executive materials, including pitches, case studies, demos, and other collateral.
  • Build targeted demand among the organizations that matter most to Sureel, prioritizing qualified rights holders, AI companies, platforms, and ecosystem partners over broad reach.
  • Build the right communication channels and programs to educate, nurture, and activate key audiences, including targeted email where appropriate.
  • Lead thought leadership across Sureel and the broader AI rights and licensing landscape, turning complex technical and economic concepts into narratives that influence industry decision-makers.
  • Develop Sureel's brand and market positioning, creating a clear and consistent identity across audiences and channels.
  • Own event and industry presence, identifying the conferences, forums, working groups, and communities where participation can advance adoption, partnerships, or awareness.
  • Turn pilots, integrations, partner outcomes, research, and product data into proof points and case studies that demonstrate Sureel's value.
  • Track how the market is being framed, including how AI companies, rights holders, regulators, standards bodies, competitors, and media are talking about AI rights and licensing, and use those insights to refine Sureel's positioning.

Requirements

  • You have deep experience in marketing, product marketing, category creation, or communications across music, media, enterprise technology, or infrastructure.
  • You've owned marketing for a brand or platform, taking work from strategy through execution and measuring the results.
  • You understand the music industry and how artists, labels, publishers, and platforms communicate.
  • You’re comfortable with data and financial detail and can build and manage a detailed marketing budget while also using judgment beyond the numbers.
  • You are a strong storyteller who can make complicated technical concepts clear, relevant, and engaging.
  • You build trust quickly, make good judgment calls around voice and messaging, and know when to escalate.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and in person and can stay calm in a fast-moving environment.
  • You are interested in music, media, and AI and enjoy working in a small, collaborative, startup-paced team.

Preferred

  • Experience as a first or early marketing hire, building functions and processes from scratch.
  • Experience marketing to artists, labels, publishers, B2B platforms, or infrastructure companies.
  • A track record of building awareness and adoption within a focused B2B, technology, or industry ecosystem.
  • Experience running email marketing programs.
  • Active involvement in the conversation around AI and music.
  • Experience marketing APIs, infrastructure, enterprise software, rights technology, marketplaces, or products involving multiple senior stakeholders in the buying process.
  • Experience turning technical standards, policy developments, research, or emerging industry frameworks into compelling market narratives.
