Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The MAC seeks a contractor who can independently provide website content management and email marketing services.
  • Website Management: Maintain website content through the organization’s CMS; Publish and update pages, events, news, and supporting content; Upload and manage images, documents, and other website assets; Recommend, coordinate, and implement website content updates aligned with seasonal exhibitions and organizational priorities; Ensure website content remains accurate, current, and aligned with brand standards; Identify and resolve routine website issues within the CMS; Coordinate with technical vendors or developers when support beyond the CMS is required.
  • Email Marketing: Manage and execute email marketing campaigns through Constant Contact; Build, schedule, test, and distribute email communications; Maintain audience lists, subscriber data, and segmentation; Ensure communications are accurate, timely, and consistent with organizational priorities; Monitor campaign performance and provide basic reporting and recommendations; Support audience growth and engagement through email marketing best practices.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with social media, public relations, agency, and internal stakeholders to support integrated marketing efforts; Attend project coordination meetings as needed to support contracted services; Manage workload independently and communicate proactively regarding priorities, opportunities, and challenges; Maintain professional communication regarding project status, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Independent Contractor Relationship: The contractor operates as an independent business and is not an employee of the MAC; The contractor will determine their own work methods and processes; Provide their own equipment, technology, and workspace; Control the time, location, and manner in which services are performed; Be responsible for all applicable taxes, licenses, and insurance; Remain free to provide services to other clients during the term of the engagement.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of professional experience in digital marketing, marketing communications, website management, or related work
  • Experience managing email marketing campaigns using Constant Contact or a comparable platform
  • Experience maintaining websites through a content management system
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress, Silverstripe or other modern CMS platforms
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including image editing and file preparation
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with minimal supervision

Preferred

  • Experience with Silverstripe CMS
  • Experience working as an independent contractor, consultant, or agency professional
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Basic understanding of SEO and website usability principles
  • Experience supporting nonprofit, arts, cultural, educational, or community-focused organizations
  • Experience collaborating with multiple marketing partners and external vendors
