Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end trafficking of all digital sponsorship campaigns across multiple channels: display, video, podcast/audio, email newsletter, social (Instagram and TikTok), mobile apps, and OTT/streaming on KQED-owned and operated platforms.
  • Partner with the Activation Manager and Broadcast Activation Specialist to review client digital media orders, confirm campaign details and creatives meet specifications, and ensure accurate, on-time launch.
  • Enter and manage campaign details in ad serving and trafficking platforms; maintain accurate records of specifications, creative assets, and delivery parameters.
  • Conduct pre-launch quality assurance tests on all digital assets; identify and resolve technical issues before launch, escalating to management, product, and clients as appropriate.
  • Monitor active campaign delivery against pacing targets and budgets; proactively adjust to ensure even delivery aligned with sponsor expectations.
  • Analyze campaign performance using GA4, Google Ad Manager, Google Ads, Megaphone, Audioserve, Dovetail, native social platform analytics, and Domo; translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Produce mid-campaign performance summaries, proof-of-performance reports, and post-campaign recaps for clients and sales team, including social media engagement and sponsor visibility data.
  • Identify under-delivery, recommend make-good solutions, and coordinate resolution with the Activation Manager and sales team.
  • Act as the CS Ops team's primary digital liaison across Marketing, Product, Marketing Communications, Creative Production, and Events; support integrated campaigns spanning digital, broadcast, radio, social, and live events.
  • Support the sales team with digital expertise during pre-sales: review inventory, advise on campaign feasibility, and contribute to client-facing materials including social media sponsorship opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in digital advertising, ad operations, social media management, or campaign management; media, agency, or public broadcasting background preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience trafficking and managing campaigns in Google Ad Manager, Google Ads, GA4, Megaphone, Audioserve, OTT, social (Instagram and TikTok), and/or video platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns with precision, meet deadlines independently, and flag issues before they become problems.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous or evolving environments; ability to test and iterate quickly where playbooks don't yet exist.
  • Strong analytical instincts: ability to interpret campaign data, identify patterns, and translate findings into clear recommendations for non-technical colleagues and clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to sales teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Preferred

  • Experience contributing to the launch or pilot of a new digital ad product, content format, revenue program, or social media monetization strategy — including helping define operational workflow, not just executing within one.
  • Hands-on experience managing Instagram and/or TikTok accounts, including content scheduling, audience engagement, analytics, and platform algorithm best practices.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Experience working within an integrated media operations team spanning broadcast, digital, social, and live events.
  • Affinity for public media and KQED's mission.
  • College degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field.
