Freelance Domain Experts: Marketing, Insurance, Retail, and Finance

Uber AI Solutions is Uber’s marketplace connecting freelancers with leading Generative AI researchers. We’re inviting senior-level professionals to collaborate on a new client project at the frontier of GenAI.

This is a freelance, paid, project-based opportunity that is flexible and remote. It is designed for experts who want to apply their deep industry knowledge to help shape how AI supports professional fields.

For this specific opportunity, we are seeking experts who are native or highly proficient in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, German, Portuguese, or Spanish.

What you’ll be doing

As a Domain Expert, you will partner with our AI and engineering teams to ensure model outputs align with real-world professional standards. Your key tasks will include:

• Workflow definition: Define the most common research-based workflows within your domain (e.g., brand strategy, claims adjustment, omnichannel planning, or M&A analysis).
• Evaluation creation: Develop comprehensive evaluations and test cases to assess the completion of these workflows. This includes specifying inputs, expected outputs, and success criteria.
• Capability assessment: Design evaluations to assess an LLM’s ability to handle complex tasks, such as interpreting market research, analyzing insurance policies, identifying retail trends, or performing financial modeling.
• Data curation and annotation: Provide guidance on identifying high-quality, domain-specific data essential for training and fine-tuning the model.
• Feedback and iteration: Conduct deep error analysis to identify failure modes and provide constructive feedback to the product team to enhance accuracy and relevance.

Project details

• Location: Remote (You must be based in the United States).
• Exclusionary states: We're currently not sourcing candidates in California.
• Earning potential: Task-based pay model. You can earn competitive rates per completed task, determined by complexity and required experience. High-engagement contributors have the potential to earn up to $130/hr.
• Commitment: 20–40 hours per week.
• Type: Freelance / Independent contractor (IC) engagement.

What we’re looking for

• Domain expertise: 12+ years of senior-level professional experience in Marketing, Insurance, Retail, or Finance (Investment Banking, Private Equity, Asset Management, or Equity Research).
• Language proficiency: Native or professional-level fluency in Arabic, Chinese, German, Portuguese, or Spanish is required.
• Analytical skills: Strong ability to break down complex professional processes into logical, measurable evaluation criteria.
• Technical acumen: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience working closely with technical/product teams. For Finance experts, direct LLM evaluation experience (model evaluation, preference ranking, or rubric design) is required.
• Communication: Exceptional skill in articulating nuanced industry judgments to a non-technical audience.
• Attention to detail: A high bar for precision in designing workflows, test cases, and evaluation metrics.
