Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities: To support the budgeting, planning, and execution of forestry operations, primarily for Forestry Services clients and for outside stumpage sales of fee timberland.
- Frequent communication with Forestry Service clients – existing and potential
- Marketing of timber to outside vendors for both fee timberland and Forestry Services clients
- Harvest planning and supervision, implementing silvicultural prescriptions, and asset protection A combination of both field- and office-based duties, such as forest inventories, streamside management zone and boundary marking, collecting GPS field data, prescribed burning, logging and planting supervision, and computer-based reporting and management
Qualifications/Education Requirements: Attention to detail, creative thinking, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in forestry
- Outstanding safety record in all aspects of previous employment
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ArcGIS software Experience in conducting performance assessments and applying appropriate control measures; timber-sales administration and inspections; and forest measurements
