Job Description
Senior Fellow: Early Career & Leadership Development Program
Our approach is rooted in innovation, responsible marketing, and a growing U.S. footprint that spans manufacturing, technology, and commercial operations across the country.
That creates real opportunity. You’ll have the space to take ownership, develop new ideas, and contribute to work that is shaping our business and the category. We’re looking for people who are curious, collaborative, and motivated by progress—because the scale of what we’re building creates room to grow in different directions.
Location: Stamford, Connecticut (in-office required), with significant domestic travel
Program Length: 18-24 months
Reports to: Chief of Staff to CEO
Target Start Date: July 1, 2026
Salary range (annual): $90,000–$110,000, with full benefits
Senior Fellows work directly with PMI U.S.’s senior leadership—including the Office of the CEO—to help shape the business’s future and advance its mission to unsmoke America. Over 18 to 24 months, Fellows gain deep exposure to corporate strategy, brand building, communications, finance, and commercial execution before, subject to performance, being given the opportunity to move into a permanent role where they can grow and flourish.
This is not a rotational program designed for observation. It is designed for hands-on contributions and ownership.
The Fellow will rotate into one to three of PMI U.S.’s core business functions—most likely Finance, Corporate Strategy and/or Commercial—to broaden strategic exposure and develop the operational fluency required for a permanent leadership role. Rotational placements will be shaped by both business need and the Fellow’s demonstrated strengths.
Across all rotations, the Fellow will be expected to contribute meaningfully from day one—not simply observe—and to develop proficiency in budget planning, cost management, and financial decision-making, among other areas, in preparation for the responsibilities of a permanent role.
This role is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and may require working in the office up to five days per week. Significant travel across the United States is required.

- 2–3 years of professional experience
- Financial acumen and prior exposure to budget planning or cost management preferred
- Hyper-ambitious, detail-oriented, and highly adaptable
- Exceptional communication and marketing instincts
- Willingness to travel extensively and start on or around July 1, 2026

Philip Morris International (PMI) is a leading international consumer goods company working to deliver a smoke-free future and evolving its portfolio for the long term to include products outside of the tobacco and nicotine sector. Since 2008, PMI has invested more than USD 15 billion to develop, scientifically substantiate and commercialize innovative smoke-free products for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke, with the goal of completely ending the sale of cigarettes. In November 2022, PMI acquired Swedish Match – a leader in oral nicotine delivery – creating a global smoke-free champion led by the companies’ IQOS and ZYN brands. As of Q2 2025, PMI's smoke-free products were available for sale in 97 markets and smoke-free products accounted for approximately 41% of net revenues. With a strong foundation and significant expertise in life sciences, PMI announced in February 2021 its ambition to expand into wellness and healthcare areas and aims to enhance life through the delivery of seamless health experiences.
