Job Summary

Own and drive the external communications program for Google's data centers and infrastructure, shaping announcements, media strategy, and partnerships across the United States. Manage key workstreams around messaging, media relations, and strategic advisory for partners.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help drive the external communications campaign in support of Google’s data centers and infrastructure across the United States.
  • Develop, write, and edit compelling communications materials, including announcements, key messaging, and more.
  • Be a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to key business partners.
  • Cultivate local, state, and national media relationships to drive awareness about how Google works with communities to build data centers the right way.
  • Think creatively, take smart risks, and address tough issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs

Preferred

  • Experience working on large events and projects that require cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience working in various areas of public policy and the energy industry or ability to quickly learn complicated and nuanced spaces
  • Ability to develop and maintain media relationships across business and technology press
  • Ability to use and adopt AI tools in the work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
