Job Summary

Owns and scales a cross-leader social media program by supervising managers, setting standards, and ensuring high-quality, consistent content while driving real-world outcomes.

  • Lead and coach a team of social media managers
  • Translate performance data into strategy and real-world advocacy outcomes

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing social media across a growing network of movement leaders
  • Oversee the social media managers. Manage the per-leader social media managers and editors: set the standard, give creative direction and expertise where it helps, and keep quality high across every leader. They handle the day-to-day posting; you manage the people and the bar, and you keep the work sharp and consistent as we grow.
  • Eyes on every leader. Monitor content and performance across all the leaders. Notice when a leader has gone quiet and re-engage them. Catch the moments worth jumping on, a breaking news cycle, a trend, a coordinated campaign, and align the leaders with them.
  • Turn online influence into offline impact. This is the whole point: attention only matters if it changes something in the real world. Keep the work aimed at outcomes that count, advocacy actions, policy and corporate wins, fundraising, real behavior change, not just views, likes, and follower counts. Stay close to which audiences each leader is reaching and whether that reach is actually moving them to act.
  • Pull the reporting. Use our social media tools to download and organize performance reports across the leaders, so the program can see what's working. We're onboarding these tools now, and you'll be the one running them.
  • Share our learnings. Work with the Program Director to put together reports and articles sharing our cohort trends and analysis with the broader anti-factory farming movement.
  • Run the social media tools. Onboard the social media managers onto our tools and oversee how they’re used day to day, across publishing, scheduling, analytics, and the AI tools the team works with.
  • Make content yourself. Contribute content creation and light editing, covering some per-leader support directly. You're hands-on, not just a manager.
  • Trend analysis. Keep up an ongoing read on AI tools, social platform mechanics, and emerging content patterns, then share learnings and communicate trends across the team and among the cohort.

Requirements

  • You have strong management skills , demonstrated over at least a 5-year period. You’ve led social media managers or content creators. You’ve managed people, not just channels. (This is ultimately a leadership role, please only apply if you have real experience on this front).
  • You live and breathe social. You’re fluent across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Substack, and Bluesky. You feel a trend before it peaks and you know in your gut why a format travels on one platform and dies on another.
  • You have 7+ years of social media experience at great places. You’ve sharpened your craft at a respected agency, a major brand, or a high-profile organization.
  • You’ve made content yourself. You’ve been a creator or a hands-on content producer, so you know the work from the inside and can give real creative direction.
  • You can show big numbers and real-world impact. You’ve grown accounts and content with results to prove it, and not just reach and engagement. Real outcomes: sales, signups, fundraising, campaign wins, measurable movement on the things that mattered. Bring the metrics that tell the story, we're looking for numbers in the millions+.
  • You have strong short-form video instincts and can edit, not just direct.
  • You stay on top of the details. You can hold a steady cadence across a growing group of leaders and the team supporting them, and you catch problems early.
  • You're data-driven. Your eager to read a dashboards, pull the numbers, and turn them into the next move.
  • You use tech and AI to scale yourself. You reach for the tool that removes the busywork.
  • You're good with people who are busy and high-profile. You can coach a movement leader or an executive director with patience and judgment, and you have a strong sense for reputational risk.
