Job Description

Job Title: Director - Indirect Sourcing, Content & Creation
Location: NYC - 10 Hudson Yards
Who We Are
At L’Oréal Operations, we create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable beauty together with our business partners by designing, developing, sourcing, manufacturing, and distributing products globally. Within North America Indirect Sourcing, the Content & Creation team manages key agency ecosystems, production/post-production services, marketing technologies, and emerging GenAI applications to support L’Oréal USA’s portfolio of iconic brands.
Position Summary
As the Director of Content & Creation Indirect Sourcing, you will sit at the strategic and operational intersection between the AVP and the Sourcing Managers. You will be responsible for translating global-to-local strategies into actionable sourcing roadmaps for your designated categories, driving cost-optimization, and elevating the quality of L’Oréal’s creative and production supplier base.
You will lead complex sourcing initiatives, partner closely with the US Business Partners, CDMO (Central Digital Marketing Office), and Global Sourcing teams, and directly mentor and guide Sourcing Managers within your team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Translate global Content & Creation strategies into targeted, high-impact US sourcing roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Own category spend, investments, and financial performance across designated creative, production, and marketing tech categories.
  • Identify and implement major cost-saving initiatives, value creation opportunities, and supplier performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Innovation, Technology & AI Integration
  • Partner strategically with internal stakeholders (CDMO, brand teams) to analyze technological evolutions and champion the integration of advanced digital and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions to optimize efficiency and creativity at scale.
  • Identify North American market trends, emerging marketing technologies, and innovative agency models to future-proof our supplier ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Partnership & Agency Governance
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to L’Oréal USA brand teams and finance leads, ensuring alignment on sourcing objectives and commercial requirements.
  • Co-own and oversee key Agency of Record (AOR) and major supplier relationships, driving regular business reviews (QBRs) and localized evaluations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for complex, high-value projects—defining objectives, resource allocation, timelines, and supplier selection criteria.
  • Leadership & Team Collaboration
  • Work in close partnership with Global Sourcing and US Sourcing leadership to harmonize processes and share best practices.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and operational oversight to Sourcing Managers within the Content & Creation team.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
  • Experience: 7-9+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or commercial management experience, ideally with a strong background in marketing services, creative agencies, production ecosystems, or indirect procurement within a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen, contract negotiation expertise, and deep understanding of creative/media agency compensation models.
  • Mindset: Forward-thinking, adaptable, and passionate about marketing technology, digital transformation, and GenAI innovations in advertising.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (Advanced degree/MBA is a plus).
What’s In It For You
  • Salary Range: $138,500 - $200,800 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
  • Competitive Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Pension Plan)
  • Hybrid Work Policy (3 Days in Office, 2 Days Work from Home)
  • Flexible Time Off (Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vacation Buy Program, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!)
  • Access to Company Perks (VIP Access to L’Oréal’s Internal Shop for Discounted Products, Monthly Mobile Allowance)
  • Learning & Development Opportunities for Career Progression (Unlimited Access to E-learnings, Lunch & Learn Sessions, Mentorship Programs, & More!)
  • Employee Resource Groups (Think Tanks and Innovation Squads)
  • Access to Mental Health & Wellness Programs
