Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop churchwide communication strategy and guide all church communications efforts to ensure clear, compelling, and consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Ensure that all communication strategies and efforts support the church’s ministry goals, with a focus on congregational and community engagement.
  • Direct the work of the Communications Manager to develop effective communication campaigns and metrics that reach the appropriate target audience.
  • Ensure efficient daily communications workflow management and confirm that communications and website are accurate and up to date.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy that supports worship, discipleship, outreach, and community connection.
  • Direct the work of the Congregational Life Manager to plan and implement a process that moves individuals from first impression to belonging, with a focus on hospitality, membership development, and volunteer mobilization.
  • Identify target audiences and outreach opportunities within the congregation and broader community.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, leadership retreats, and ministry planning.
  • Lead planning, implementation, and follow up for strategic initiatives.
  • Use existing platforms and systems to measure effectiveness over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, communications, marketing, nonprofit leadership, organizational leadership, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in church ministry, nonprofit leadership, communications, community engagement, or related work.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, organizing, developing, and managing the performance of employees.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technological skills working with CRM platforms or church management software.
