Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Communications is a full-time remote role responsible for leading Roarke Regenerative’s internal and external communications strategy. This position oversees the development and execution of integrated communications plans that elevate the organization’s mission, programs, and partnerships across digital, print, and media channels.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing press releases, managing media outreach, coordinating public relations campaigns, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • The Director will collaborate with executive leadership and program teams to translate complex environmental initiatives into clear, compelling narratives for donors, partners, and the broader public.
  • This role also involves guiding brand voice, supervising content development, monitoring communications performance, and adapting strategies based on data and stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, including developing and implementing long-term communication plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive messaging for diverse audiences and channels.
  • Proficiency in press release development and distribution, including shaping stories and coordinating with stakeholders for timely, accurate announcements.
  • Media relations experience, including cultivating relationships with journalists, responding to inquiries, and securing coverage in relevant outlets.
  • Public relations expertise, with a track record of managing campaigns, reputation, and stakeholder engagement for mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience leading or managing communications teams or contractors, with collaborative working style in remote environments.
  • Familiarity with digital communications tools and analytics platforms (e.g., email marketing, social media management, web content management, media monitoring).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Background or strong interest in environmental conservation, climate action, or nonprofit work is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
