    The Role
The Director of Communications & Member Engagement is the Chamber's Integrator: the person who makes sure operations, billing/accounting hygiene, and member experience are excellent every single day. This role owns member retention, marketing/communications, and the financial housekeeping of the organization.
    What You'll Own
    • Member Retention & Engagement: You'll be the friendly, familiar voice members hear on renewals and past-due accounts, and the go-to person for members who need a little extra attention. Goal: keep member dues revenue retention at 90% or higher.
    • Billing & Collections: Handle invoicing, payment processing, and accounts receivable follow-up so no member invoice ages past 90 days, looping in the President early on anything at risk.
    • Social Media: Lead our social media strategy and content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, and whatever's next, grow our following and engagement year over year, and be our unofficial event photographer.
    • Marketing & Communications: Own the e-newsletters and emails, member spotlights, and website content.
    • CRM & Data Integrity: Keep our CRM (ChamberMaster or successor) as the single source of truth for members, invoices, events, and committees, and pull together monthly reporting for the President and Board.
    • Office & Board Administration: Prepare and distribute board meeting minutes, keep the front desk and office running smoothly, coordinate conference room and AV scheduling, and support our quarterly Member Orientation meetings.
    • Event Coordination: Help bring our signature events to life, ribbon cuttings, networking events, the Annual Awards Banquet, the Chairman's Memorial Golf Tournament, and the Accelerate Learning Series, working alongside the President and our committees.
    • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with other team members so new members get a warm, seamless welcome.
    • Other Duties: As assigned.
    What You'll Bring
    • Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred, but we're just as interested in equivalent hands-on experience.
    • Experience: 1-3 years in office or operations management, marketing, communications, or nonprofit/association administration.
    • Financial Know-How: Comfort with accounts receivable, invoicing, and basic bookkeeping.
    • Marketing Chops: Experience with growing and managing social media, email marketing, or content programs. Comfortable reading and reporting on the numbers behind them.
    • Technical Skills: Exceptional Microsoft Suite skills are required. Familiarity with Adobe, Canva, Claude AI or ChatGPT. Experience with a CRM or database platform would be a plus.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, you're comfortable representing the Chamber out in the community, and you handle past-due balances with warmth and tact.
    • Leadership Potential: You can organize, plan, and run projects on your own. Self-starter who operates with a sense of urgency.
    • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Searcy and the local business community, you'll field frequent calls from members and residents needing information or connections.
Please send resume and cover letter to tcathey@searcychamber.com.
    Position & Salary
Full time, exempt. $44,000-$48,000 depending on experience.
    Benefits
15 PTO days after 90 days
Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Account after 90 days.
    Paid Holidays
    Location & Hours:
    2323 S. Main, Searcy, AR 72143
Full-time, based out of the Chamber office in Searcy, Arkansas. Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, with occasional early morning, evening event coverage or overnight travel for training.
