Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Development Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing fundraising strategies to secure and steward new and recurring gifts made by individual donors. This role is critical to qualifying emerging and annual fund donors and building meaningful relationships to engage individuals in BakerRipley’s mission. Initiate and execute strategies for all phases of the gift cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship) to secure renewed, increased, and new gifts from individuals. Focus on donor retention and upgrades to sustain operation and serve as a stable and predictable backbone for the agency. Build connection and opportunities for donor engagement such as writing personal thank you notes or making calls, sharing agency newsletter, offering volunteer opportunities, and hosting donor tours. Write, edit, and submit thank you letters, letters of support, letters of inquiry (LOI), proposals, and impact reports to communicate impact, provide good stewardship, and ensure gift compliance. Solicit sponsorships for agency fundraising events. Supports the Senior Director of Development with special projects and other duties as assigned. MINIMUM EDUCATION: 4-year degree from a college or university. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: One year experience in fundraising or related experience in sales and marketing.
