Humane Society of Central Illinois

Humane Society of Central Illinois (HSCI) is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter that has been serving pets since 2006. Prior to that doors opened in October of 1996 as the first Pet Adoption Center rose in Bloomington Illinois. The facility was a dream of ours for many years. Prior to 1996, we relied on foster homes and boarding at vet offices for our pets. Our mission is to find loving, forever homes for abused and unwanted pets. Through compassion and collaboration, we are building a community in the central Illinois area where every pet has a home.In addition to nominal adoption fees, HSCI relies heavily on donations from individuals, foundations and corporations who also have a commitment to animal welfare, and fundraising activities. The HSCI has donation support of over 900 individuals, volunteers who dedicate countless hours each year, humane investigators who handle over 500 cases each year, and spay/neuter over 1,000 animals on-site or through discounts with local veterinarians. The HSCI helps more than 2,200 animals annually.
