Job Description
- Oversees the development and/or revision of curricula consistent with current research and industry needs and implements instructional programs.
- Monitors and increases student enrollment, retention, graduation and job placement rates; as well as resolves student issues.
- Implements student-centered instructional programs in the classrooms and labs.
- Actively markets programs and implements effective recruitment strategies to attract students.
- Develops semester course schedules and faculty assignments to maximize student success.
- Hires, Supervises, and evaluates personnel.
- Ensures the effective implementation of the faculty advancement processes and adheres to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Teaches at least one (1) course within the discipline per academic year.
- Prepares and maintains departmental budgets.
- Oversees management of labs, equipment and department resources.
- Ensures departmental compliance with SACS accreditation guidelines and FAA regulations.
- Manages and coordinates operations across multiple aviation sites, ensuring consistency and quality in program delivery.
- Represents the department at college events, industry conferences, and public forums, effectively communicating the department's achievements and goals.
- Oversees technology integration in aviation programs, ensuring faculty training and enhanced teaching outcomes.
- Facilitates industry partnerships to enhance program relevance and student opportunities, organizing advisory boards and employer engagement.
- Develops strategic plans and conducts program assessments to align with college goals and industry standard.
- Encourages a collaborative work environment, leading a diverse team and organizing team-building and professional development activities.
- Participates in the development and implementation of College policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Serves on Campus and College-wide committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Master’s degree in a related field or related discipline and five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in aviation,
higher education, teaching and/or related experience or a combination of administrative, teaching or private sector experience. - All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
