Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This position serves as the Marketing team supervisor, overseeing a team of six (6) professionals.
  • As the unit manager for the Marketing team, this position is responsible for assigned program activities under the section’s marketing, branding, graphic design, and publications staff.
  • This position is also responsible for the guidance and direction of a dynamic team, ensuring the production of timely and engaging content is implemented through an omni-channel approach.
  • This unit manager and staff help CPW achieve its strategic priorities through developing campaigns that follow the CPW Strategic plan and generate revenue and raise awareness of agency products and programs.
  • This position is responsible for tracking SMART goals and advising the section manager of campaign results.
  • Coaching and mentoring a high-functioning team.
  • As a team supervisor, this position will manage the annual goals and reviews process with direct reports.
  • The position will work with the Branding and Communications section manager to provide support to marketing and branding staff, encouraging development opportunities from defined annual goals and reviews.
  • This person communicates policy, budgets, and operational information to direct staff and answer, or find answers to, questions, requests, and/or concerns from the team.
  • Coordinate comprehensive strategic marketing plans with other section work unit supervisors and team.
  • Working with the Branding and Communications Section Manager and fellow Branding and Communications supervisors, help determine which overarching marketing campaigns should be planned and implemented to meet the goals of the CPW strategic plan across owned, earned, shared, and paid media channels.
  • Work with the section project manager to ensure timely and in-budget delivery of those campaigns.
  • Manage RFP Processes, Contracts, Projects And Vendors.
  • This position will be responsible for determining which marketing projects require a request for proposal, managing these procurements from RFP through contract execution, and developing the required metrics for selected vendors.
  • The position will also be the lead contact for both traditional and digital advertising proposals from current or new vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in Marketing Account Management, Marketing Account Supervision, Marketing Professional Services, Advertising Management, Digital Marketing Management, Senior Graphic Design, Marketing Program Management or related fields, with at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience leading teams in a supervisory role managing cross-functional creative projects
  • A combination of related education in Communications, Program Management/Project Management, Marketing and/or relevant professional experience in Marketing Account Management, Marketing Account Supervision, Marketing Professional Services, Advertising Management, Digital Marketing Management, Senior Graphic Design, Marketing Program Management equal to eight (8) years, with at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience leading teams in a supervisory role managing cross-functional creative projects
  • - Additional appropriate education will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred

  • Current or former State experience relevant to this position
  • Masters degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, business administration or a related field
  • Knowledge of parks, wildlife and outdoor recreation topics, issues and interest holders
