Position Summary We are seeking an experienced U.S. Trade Compliance Attorney to support and enhance the compliance program for Jabil’s U.S. operations. This role provides legal counsel and governance oversight in trade compliance, regulatory interpretation, audit response, and government interactions, while supporting day-to-day U.S. import, export, and customs matters. The attorney will advise business, operations, supply chain, and engineering teams on U.S. trade laws and regulations, support implementation of global trade policies within the U.S. regulatory framework, and help translate regulatory requirements into practical, scalable processes aligned with Jabil’s manufacturing and technology portfolio. In addition, this role will serve as a key legal interface between business and operations teams, supporting trade controls and compliance governance across U.S.-based programs. Responsibilities include advising on export control classifications, licensing strategy, and compliance planning; supporting the design and oversight of export control plans; ensuring adherence to applicable U.S. export control and customs regulations; and coordinating with global teams where U.S. jurisdiction applies. The focus of the role is advisory support, policy governance, and compliance assurance. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provide legal advice on U.S. export controls (ITAR, EAR), U.S. customs laws, sanctions, and related trade regulations. Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to business transactions, manufacturing activities, technology development, and supply chain operations. Support development, implementation, and governance of U.S. trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls. Advise on export classifications (ECCN/USML), jurisdiction and classification analysis, licensing requirements, and license exception applicability. Provide legal support in connection with audits, internal investigations, disclosures, and government inquiries. Assist with drafting and reviewing export control plans, technology control plans, and compliance documentation for U.S.-based programs. Partner with compliance, operations, and site leadership to assess compliance posture and recommend corrective actions where needed. Support training and awareness initiatives to strengthen understanding of U.S. trade requirements across functional teams. Monitor regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on changes impacting U.S. operations. Coordinate with global trade compliance teams to ensure alignment where U.S. jurisdiction applies. Education And Experience Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. 3-6 years of experience in U.S. trade compliance law, including export controls (ITAR/EAR) and U.S. customs regulations. Experience interacting with U.S. government agencies (e.g., DDTC, BIS, CBP, OFAC) preferred. Experience supporting compliance governance, audit response, and internal control environments. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them in operational settings. Ability to communicate complex legal requirements clearly to non-legal stakeholders. Additional Requirements Fluent in English.
