Job Summary

Own and drive content that tells Greater Manchester’s story, coordinating written, image, and video assets, and partnering across teams to expand reach while tracking KPIs and safeguarding the brand.

  • Content production and commissioning: develop key narratives and commission video/imagery with external partners to support Marketing Manchester’s promotion goals.
  • Asset collaboration and distribution: work with media, digital, and design teams to maximise reach and consistency of content.
  • Brand protection and stakeholder alignment: use content to elevate the Manchester brand and reflect regional strengths while engaging diverse partners.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop key pieces of content to support Marketing Manchester in its work to promote Greater Manchester as a place to visit, meet, invest, and study.
  • Produce engaging copy and editorial content for use across a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Brief and commission new video and imagery via external agencies and freelancers.
  • Work closely with the media, communications, and digital teams to support content distribution and maximise reach, consistency, and immediacy.
  • Collaborate with the in-house Video Editor and design team on utilisation of existing assets.
  • Use content to protect and elevate the work of Marketing Manchester and the reputation of the Manchester brand.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners to ensure content reflects Greater Manchester’s strengths.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on key performance indicators in line with service level agreements, action plans, and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop content strategies that deliver against specific campaign KPIs.
  • Experience in creating engaging written, image, and video content, and briefing external agencies and freelancers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in partnership across teams and organisations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of delivery while working to tight deadlines.
  • Results driven, with a focus on achieving and reporting against agreed objectives.
