Job Description

A Brief Overview

The community outreach RN position is responsible for developing and coordinating community education and outreach for Portage Medical Center. This is a part time position, based off of working 24 hours per week. This is a hybrid role.

What You Will Do

  • Performs all duties in a courteous and efficient manner, maintains positive relationships with all contacts and co-workers. Competencies 1-5 (40%)
  • Coordinates/facilitates community outreach & education programs (30%)
  • Develops community outreach initiatives to promote key service, to increase awareness and preference of entity as destination for the key services. (10%)
  • Provides clinical expertise for Marketing & Communication strategies (10%)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • 5+ years management experience (Required) or
  • 5+ years Clinical / RN experience (Required)
  • Experience in marketing and budgeting (Preferred) and
  • Experience working with elderly and knowledge of community resources (Preferred) and
  • Experience with occupational health (Preferred)
  • Skilled in facilitating group presentations and education sessions (Preferred)
