Responsibilities

• Own the community strategy
• Define what community means here: who it's for, what members get out of it, and how it grows
• Build a home for the most engaged users, one that stays well-run as it scales rather than getting messier with growth
• Make it simple for members to run their own events and meetups, with kits that don’t require your team in the room
• Work closely with social, brand, and creative teams to turn what the community creates into what the broader audience sees
• Drive adoption in new markets through community-led outreach, adapting the approach as the product expands internationally
• Build the growth loop
• Partner with growth on referral and invite mechanics that feel like an invitation, not a push
• Identify the creators and advocates producing the best content, and give them the support and room to keep going
• Keep real user stories flowing to marketing on an ongoing basis

Requirements

• Genuine, personal interest in this category. This isn't a role for someone who's community-agnostic
• 5+ years in community, social, developer relations, or creator programs, including at least one consumer product at real scale and one ambassador or superuser program you've built from scratch
• Experience running an online community past the point where manual moderation holds up: bots, automation, roles, escalation paths
• Strong writing with a distinct voice. You can read a room and land a joke publicly without it falling flat
• Comfort with a community that develops a mind of its own, and the ability to work with that rather than fight it
• An analytical streak. You can turn participation data and qualitative signal into something the product team can act on that week, and you know which metrics actually prove community drives growth
• A track record of building trust as a core part of the community experience, not an afterthought

Preferred

• Nice to have: experience designing early access or beta programs, building community internationally, or working with a product built around a character or distinct persona
