Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Community Connection – 30% of time approximately 12 hours per week - Be the USU representative to the Davis Chamber of Commerce – Attend meetings and activities to promote USU programs and events. - Join a local service organization and participate in meetings and events in order to promote USU Programs and Events. - Deliver flyers and other promotional materials face to face to local businesses and organizations to promote USU events, activities, and fund-raising opportunities. - Assist with the execution of on-campus events such as Open Houses, Heritage Days, Scarecrow/Pumpkin Walk, Transfer Information Sessions, and Counselor programs. - Provide support for departmental programs and projects. - Coordinate activities and events on the Kaysville campus. - Coordinate with extension to help support events and build positive relationships.
  • Regional Social Media – 20% of time approximately 8 hours per week - Serve as the content manager for USU Kaysville, Brigham City, and Tremonton social media pages. - Create content and ensure that a robust social media exposure exists and is persistent. - Coordinate social media postings and outreach in the region. - Actively participate in social media posts throughout the region - Be willing to be the face of USU Brigham city for live broadcasts and other postings. - Be creative and humorous in creating engaging posts that increase public viewing and participation. - Willing to travel to Brigham City about once a week to keep abreast of happenings, create content, and coordinate postings
  • Graduate Program Coordinator - 20% of time approximately 8 hours per week - Meet with department chairs with statewide professional programs - Assess their interest with working together on recruiting projects - Develop plans and ideas to increase the number of students in programs - Host on campus events that invite potential professional students to meet with department leaders and faculty – such as an MSW Lunch - Coordinate visits by department leaders, faculty, and regional leads to businesses or industries that have interest in specific degrees - Host and coordinate professional open houses - Create electronic contact lists of industry and education partners and periodically send appropriate educational opportunity information - Reach out and meet with industry leaders, human resource directors, and educational institution leads to promote programs - Building, Campus, and Other Duties as Assigned – 20% of time approximately 8 hours per week - Cover the front desk and testing center when the need arises - Assist in performing office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, appointment scheduling, and other general duties as needed. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience, or an associate degree/technical training in a related field.
  • Strong customer service orientation, experience, or knowledge with the ability to apply those skills in creating positive experiences while interacting with others.
  • Effective presentation and speaking skills especially with the ability to present a positive message to groups and one on one.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a service-oriented attitude, a desire to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Responsive, creative, and able to work independently without strong oversight
  • Ability to travel to events and activities and ability to adapt schedule to participate in these. Ability work on both the Kaysville and Brigham City campuses.
  • Proficiency with common computer software such as word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and social media platforms.
  • Poses creative abilities to aid in the creation of social media posts and campaigns.
  • Willingness to visit businesses and organizations as well as doing cold calls to locations to deliver USU materials

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an associate degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Experience working with post traditional students
  • Marketing or promotional experience
  • History of being engaged in community organizations
  • Familiarity with distance delivery systems and experience operating in differing modalities such as interactive video conference, online, and blended formats.
