The Communications & Public Affairs Coordinator will help shape the Association’s public voice and support advocacy that advances a resilient supply chain and promotes industry growth. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, policy, and global supply chains while supporting communications that influence industry and government stakeholders. You will be a key member of the Global Communications team, reporting to the Senior Director of Media Engagement, and support the North American Government Relations team. This role is ideal for a curious, versatile, “ready-to-jump-in” collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and edit media pitches, news releases, backgrounders, position papers, fact sheets, key messages, website copy, and member communications tailored to target audiences.
• Build and maintain targeted media lists and support outreach.
• Support rapid response communications: prepare statements, talking points, and Q&A under tight deadlines.
• Maintain an integrated editorial calendar across channels (web, email, social, events, policy milestones); manage intake, approvals, and version control.
• Uphold brand voice and editorial standards (AP/house style) across all content.
• Support social media strategy: develop content and simple graphics using brand templates; schedule posts, monitor engagement, and escalate reputational risks.
• Track channel performance and present insights to stakeholders.
• Prepare policy briefs, one-pagers, meeting packets, and briefing materials for engagements with Congress, federal/state agencies, and coalition partners.
• Support scheduling, planning, and preparation for meetings with key government officials and Association leaders; maintain stakeholder and meeting logs for compliance.
• Assist with grasstops/grassroots activations including action alerts, sign-on letters or district events, and coordinate member participation.
• Coordinate planning and logistics for local, regional, and global events, conferences, and speaking engagements for Association leadership.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with NA, EU, and Asia teams and vendors across time zones; manage timelines, status updates, and deliverables.
• Support the DC office with light office management tasks and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• At least 1.5 years of experience in communications, public affairs, or a related field, may include internships/fellowships.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to rapidly distill complex information for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of U.S. government processes, policy, the media landscape, and how they intersect.
• Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and major social media platforms.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role in our DC office, with occasional early/late calls across time zones and occasional travel.

The pay for this position is up to $65,000 annually. Global Electronics Association considers education, experience, internal equity, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting payrates. In addition to compensation benefits, and offers a variety of health and welfare benefits, based on eligibility, including job status/hours worked each week.
