Responsibilities

• The pilot project will allow CRWC to build a story station, develop a training, create marketing assets, and bring on an intern to assist in deploying the story station in each subwatershed of the Clinton to gather people’s stories, with a particular focus in Pontiac, Mt. Clemens, Warren, and Madison Heights.
• We will distribute stories across CRWC’s communications channels.
• The intern will participate in public storytelling training sessions, solicit and record audio and video stories about residents’ experiences with the Clinton River, and distribute these stories on CRWC’s communications channels including social media, email, and website.
• This work will involve attending community events to solicit and capture these stories.
• This role will give the intern experience in non-profit marketing, video filming and editing, working with members of the public, storytelling, and grant management.

Requirements

• Interns must be 18 years or older and working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in communications, media, marketing, film or a related field.
• Students from any accredited college or university are eligible to apply.
• Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interns should have the ability to work independently and cooperatively.
• Candidates should have a working understanding of word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Available to work occasional evenings or weekends, including attending community events across the watershed.

Preferred

• Applicants with experience with audio visual equipment and editing/production tools will be given priority.
