Job Summary

You will own and drive the external relations program to advance long-term College of Agriculture objectives and visibility.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • coordinating, planning, and executing a comprehensive and effective external relations program that supports and enhances long-term objectives and increases the visibility of the College of Agriculture.
  • these responsibilities include public relations, marketing communications, community outreach, digital marketing, and event activities.
  • professionally and strategically working with COA staff, faculty, students, stakeholders, volunteers, and sponsors to coordinate events, scholarships, and publications.
  • coordinating multiple large-scale COA events, with broad visible impact, duties include initiation, execution, implementation, logistics, marketing, evaluation, budget tracking.
  • the scope of duties are varied and multifaceted and requires off-campus travel and evening/weekend hours to attend meetings and/or coordinate events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Two to four years of progressively responsible professional experience in public affairs, communications, marketing, media relations, event management, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in higher education, agriculture, nonprofit, or public sector communications.
  • Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural education.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events and community outreach activities.
  • Experience supporting alumni, donor, or advancement initiatives.
  • Experience with photography, videography, graphic design, or multimedia storytelling.
  • Experience serving as an organizational spokesperson or media liaison.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
