Responsibilities

• Serve as a media contact and cultivate relationships with journalists, analysts, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage proactive and reactive media relations, including responding to inquiries and pitching story ideas.
• Partner with senior leaders and industry executives on external communications activities.
• Develop media story angles, executive talking points, key messages, blog posts, social content, and bylined articles.
• Provide strategic counsel and media coaching to leaders and spokespeople.
• Coordinate media-training activities and interview preparation.
• Manage dedicated public relations agency resources and deliverables.
• Lead junior team members by providing guidance, feedback, and coaching.
• Anticipate market, cultural, and technology trends and identify communications opportunities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing Communications, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a virtual, highly matrixed organization; professional services or global corporation experience preferred.
• Strong executive presence and ability to advise senior stakeholders.
• Excellent writing, presentation, project management, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with Workfront or similar workflow-management platforms.
• Experience managing public relations agencies or external communications vendors.
• Experience coaching executives for media interviews or speaking engagements.
