Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Communications & Project Support
  • - Serve as a first point of coordination for communications requests from faculty, staff, and school departments.
  • - Help intake, organize, prioritize, and track communications projects and requests.
  • - Draft, edit, and proofread communications for students, families, faculty, and staff.
  • - Provide copywriting support for newsletters, announcements, web content, emails, event materials, social media, and other school communications.
  • - Help ensure communications are clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with Pinewood’s voice and brand.
  • - Assist with communications calendars, project timelines, and general coordination.
  • - Assist with special projects and campaigns throughout the school year.
  • Social Media & Content Creation
  • - Support Pinewood’s social media channels by developing and scheduling engaging, authentic content.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to voice, tone, grammar, and detail.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Basic experience with photography and/or short-form video on a smart phone or camera.
  • Experience creating Reels or other short-form video content; basic video editing skills preferred.
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Strong visual sense and an understanding of what makes content engaging and shareable.
  • Ability to translate ideas and information into clear, compelling communications for different audiences.
  • Collaborative, responsive, and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic K–12 school environment and interacting professionally with students, families, faculty, and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience using project management and team communications platforms like Slack, is a plus.
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms, particularly Instagram, and experience using social media content management software is a plus.
  • Experience in education, schools, nonprofit organizations, or community-based settings is a plus.
