Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage Whistleblower Aid’s social media accounts, including content creation and regular posting
  • Quickly draft social media content in rapid response situations
  • Develop innovative and creative strategies for building social media engagement
  • Assist in creating/maintaining a content calendar
  • Assist in the drafting and sending of news releases and other content creation
  • Perform basic website updates, including posting news releases and links to news articles
  • Assist in monitoring press inbox and coordinating / scheduling client press inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A passion for justice, a resilient democracy, and corporate accountability
  • 2-4 years of professional experience; prior work with non-profit organizations, political campaigns, and / or elected officials
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to translate policy and legal subject matter into compelling and accessible content to drive engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in generating engagement on social media platforms
  • Graphic design experience using Canva or similar apps
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced small team environment
  • Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Hootsuite and WordPress a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
