Job Description

Position Summary
Across industries, commerce has become one of the most important channels for growth, customer engagement, and margin performance - not simply a transactional endpoint, but a strategic lever that shapes how customers experience a brand and how a business competes. Where organizations are rethinking the role commerce should play in their broader channel mix and how they acquire, convert, and retain customers as a result, they look to Deloitte's Commerce practice.
Our team helps clients define the role of commerce as a channel within their broader growth strategy, build the value narrative and business case for where to invest, and shape the experiences, capabilities, and operating model needed to deliver on that strategy. We bring together strategic rigor, design depth, commercial judgment, and implementation expertise to help clients translate ambition into measurable business outcomes.
The Commerce Strategy Manager is a client-facing consulting leader responsible for shaping commerce strategy engagements across industries, bringing a strategic, value-oriented lens to how clients position commerce as a critical growth channel. This role combines commerce strategy expertise and consulting execution with the judgment to connect commerce decisions to the broader commercial strategy - including customer experience, pricing, and growth strategy - helping clients prioritize the highest-value commerce use cases and carry a clear value narrative through to implementation.
Recruiting for this role ends on November 30, 2026
Work You'll Do
Commerce organizations are operating in a fast-changing environment shaped by shifting consumer behavior, channel fragmentation, rising customer expectations, and pressure to deliver profitable growth. Many companies are investing in commerce, but too few have a clear strategy for the role commerce should play as a channel - where to play, how to win, how commerce decisions should shape pricing, customer experience, and growth strategy, and how to prioritize the use cases that matter most.
We are looking for practitioners who can work alongside client leadership teams to define the strategic role of commerce as a channel, build the value narrative and business case for where to invest, prioritize commerce use cases, and drive the implications of that positioning across pricing, customer experience, and growth strategy - creating measurable impact that carries through into how commerce gets implemented.
As a Commerce Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading the day-to-day delivery of commerce strategy engagements across industries, including defining commerce's role as a growth channel, channel strategy and role definition, commerce operating model design, and experience optimization - bringing a strategic, value-oriented lens into how these strategies carry through implementation
  • Partnering with client business, digital, technology, and operations leaders to define commerce strategies tied to clear business outcomes
  • Translating business challenges into structured analyses, recommendations, and executive-ready deliverables grounded in data, customer insight, and commercial logic
  • Shaping commerce strategy roadmaps that span channel positioning, experience design, capability priorities, and organizational change, grounded in a clear value narrative and business case for where to invest
  • Driving the implications of commerce strategy and channel positioning into other parts of the commercial strategy agenda - including customer experience, pricing, and growth strategy - and helping clients prioritize commerce use cases based on business value and strategic fit
  • Partnering with global technical and implementation delivery teams to ensure the strategic intent and value case behind commerce decisions carry through into execution, without owning day-to-day technical delivery
  • Managing day-to-day client relationships, facilitating working sessions, and overseeing scope, timelines, risks, and dependencies across workstreams
  • Using advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, insight generation, and work quality
  • Supporting practice growth through proposals, solution shaping, workplans, and follow-on opportunities
  • Coaching teams, modeling Deloitte leadership behaviors, and contributing to an inclusive, high-performing culture
A successful candidate should possess these skills:
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments; managing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements; and leading projects or workstreams.
  • Strong executive presence, stakeholder management, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate business needs into analytical or technology-enabled solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while building and sustaining professional relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work products, while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with the ability to mentor others and provide clear guidance.
Required
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with a demonstrated history of consulting delivery in commerce strategy, digital commerce, customer experience, technology-enabled transformation, or related areas
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with business, digital, technology, or commerce client teams
  • 5+ years of experience shaping commerce strategies and translating them into actionable roadmaps, operating models, or implementation plans
  • 1+ years of experience incorporating AI into daily workflow and leveraging AI tools to enable and optimize the client experience
  • Ability to travel up to 30%+ on average, based on the work you do and the clients you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred
  • 4+ years working knowledge of digital commerce platforms and capabilities sufficient to inform strategy and prioritization decisions, without owning hands-on implementation
  • 4+ years of experience leading workstreams or projects, including managing scope, timelines, deliverables, and client communication
  • Experience connecting commerce strategy to adjacent areas of commercial strategy, such as customer experience, pricing, or growth strategy, and translating that connection into prioritized recommendations
  • Experience presenting recommendations and deliverables to executive stakeholders
  • Experience supporting proposals, solution shaping, or workplan development
  • Experience growing and developing teams, especially practitioners with 0-2 years of experience
