Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients and projects, helping build strong relationships and deliver excellent client service.
• Develop and implement communications, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach strategies that support climate, energy, infrastructure, resilience, and public-sector initiatives.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, deliverables, and reporting requirements, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with ASC quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to support successful project execution.
• Help clients navigate stakeholder dynamics, public-facing challenges, and community engagement opportunities associated with complex projects and initiatives.
• Develop communications materials including presentations, fact sheets, newsletters, website content, social media content, talking points, and public-facing materials.
• Translate technical, environmental, infrastructure, planning, and policy-related information into clear and accessible communications.
• Plan and facilitate public meetings, workshops, stakeholder sessions, focus groups, and other engagement activities.
• Advise clients on stakeholder engagement approaches, community relations strategies, and public participation best practices.
• Communicate effectively with government agencies, community organizations, elected officials, project partners, businesses, and members of the public.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, public relations, community engagement, government relations, planning, sustainability, infrastructure, resilience, transportation, workforce development, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience supporting climate, energy, infrastructure, environmental, resilience, transportation, workforce development, economic development, or public-sector initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects and client relationships.
• Experience coordinating teams, consultants, vendors, or project partners.
• Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, utilities, community-based organizations, planning organizations, or public-sector clients is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with climate policy, energy transition issues, resilience planning, infrastructure implementation, community engagement, or community-based planning is preferred.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical, policy, environmental, infrastructure, and planning-related concepts into clear and accessible communications.
