Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Cannabis Facility Intern to join our production facility team! This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in one of the fastest growing industries in America. In this role, you will learn the basics of what its like to work in the cannabis industry by shadowing in 4-5 different departments over a course of 3 months and is a paid internship.

Pay: $17.50/hr

In this role you will….

CULTIVATION:

  • Assist the Cultivation Manager and Cultivation Supervisors with all aspects of the cultivation process.
  • Follow Cultivation Lead instructions on tasks assigned by the Cultivation Manager or Supervisors.
  • Maintain high morale and positive relationships with team members and conduct work in a way that is consistent with the company values, policies, and other standards of conduct.
  • Conduct plant maintenance on all aspects of growth cycle including:
    • Mother
    • Vegetative
    • Flowering
    • Take-down and post-harvest
  • Complete plant work and plant movement including, but not limited to defoliation, pruning, and up-potting.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of facility which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Breaking down and setting up plant production areas after harvest.
      • Sweeping and/or mopping all work areas
      • Sanitizing crop benches
      • Cleaning reservoirs and sinks
      • Preparing to transplant new crops

POST-PRODUCTION:

  • Assist manager and cultivation team with all aspects of the harvest process including;
    • Harvest/ takedown
    • Debone and sort
  • Perform trimming of dried plants, ensuring trimmed leaf, trimmed flower and steams or other waste are separated and per harvest batch to be weighted and reported properly.
  • Harvest plants in the appropriate plant production area, ensuring plants are handled properly.
  • Package products, support curing process, and/or work with joint rolling as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate biosecurity measures.
  • Keep harvest area organized and separate waste and plant material in accordance with their assigned harvest batch.
  • Ensure accuracy and traceability to trimming data by carefully collecting all plant material into its designated container.
  • Perform weight of plants or plant material during trimming, harvesting, processing, and packaging as requested by the Post- Production Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize workspace per Company SOPs.

INVENTORY & PACKAGING:

  • Pull tested inventory, in advance or on demand, based on incoming sales orders.
  • Accurately weigh and package product using a variety of packaging materials based on sales orders.
  • Ensure all packages are labeled and identified correctly; resolve and escalate any issues to management.
  • Ensure METRC data is current and correct; escalate any issues to management.
  • Prepare all packing materials including, bags, containers, and labels.
  • Update inventory logs daily and ensure inventory counts are always accurate.
  • Ensure vault is maintained in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Maintain an organized and clean working environment.

PROCESSING:

  • Preparation of biomass and equipment for extraction.
  • Perform specific extraction processes and refine concentrate into desired consistency; perform distillations of extracts and solvents.
  • Record data and movement within laboratory processing notebooks; enter data into laboratory database.
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
  • Take inventory of all materials including materials, supplies, consumables, spare parts for equipment etc.
  • Monitor supply of goods for extraction needs, and coordinate with Lab Manager to ensure ordering is taking place.

Skills and experience you have...

  • Previous experience in the cannabis industry is preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required MA State Agent ID
