Job Description

Tono Health is the AI-native specialty dermatology platform. We connect dermatologists and leading subspecialists with the patients who need them, across 33+ states, in partnership with leading health systems & cancer centers. We built our own AI-powered dermatology EMR and practice-management platform to run it, and our programs medical dermatology, complex immunology (including hidradenitis suppurativa), supportive oncodermatology, and hair & cosmetic dermatology from our flagship in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

We hold a high bar. Our team comes from Apple, Twitter, and Amazon. Our physicians trained and practiced at Columbia, Einstein, Harvard, Mount Sinai, Memorial Sloan Kettering and other leading medical institutions. Together we're building the company at the intersection of world-class medicine and AI-native engineering.

We're backed by leading investors including Village Global, HOF Capital, and Oncology Ventures.

We believe everyone wants the best medicine. We run a first-class business in a first-class way, and we hire people who want to be part of a team that expects to win.

Join us in our mission to deliver life-changing care to more people in more places.

Role Description

This is a Business Operations seat working directly with the CEO on the commercial side of Tono: our partnerships with health systems, cancer centers, and life sciences companies; how we generate demand; and the business goals that decide whether we win. You'll work directly with the CEO on running the programs we have and building the playbook to sign the next ones, and the owner of growth, marketing, and demand until each is big enough to deserve its own head. It's a hands-on operating role: where a channel doesn't have an owner yet, you're the owner.

It's built for someone three to six years into a strategy career in healthcare, life sciences, or generalist consulting, or in strategy, growth, or partnerships at a digital health company who has done the analysis and written the recommendation and now wants to own what happens next. You've had the training; this is where you apply it.

  • Partnerships machinery. Our commercial team signs health systems, cancer centers, and clinical practices and owns those relationships; you build what makes them deliver: activation, per-partner scorecards, and the quarterly review that shows a partner exactly what Tono did for their patients.
  • Pharma and life sciences programs. Day-to-day management of our live pharma programs.
  • Growth and demand. Marketing across various channels.
  • CEO priorities. A rotating slate of the problems that decide whether Tono wins: New clinical program or perhaps a new partnership.

Experience

  • 3–6 years in strategy consulting — healthcare, life sciences, or generalist (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, L.E.K., ZS, Simon-Kucher, Trinity, Putnam, Chartis, Advisory Board, or similar) — or in strategy & operations, growth, partnerships, or business development at a digital health company (Ro, Hims, Headway, Zocdoc, Spring Health, Thyme Care, Flatiron, or similar), or a mix of the two. We care about the training, not the logo: the structured problem-solving, the client-ready writing, and the bar for rigor those places drill in — and that you now want to apply somewhere you own the outcome.
  • Clincal & Pharma fluency is a strong plus: commercial strategy, patient services and hub programs, market access, HCP or patient marketing, or partnership work on either side of the table. Provider-side and clinical fluency — referral pathways, prior auth — is a plus too. Neither is required if you learn fast.

Personal Characteristics

  • Relentless Drive for Excellence: Holds themselves and others to the highest standards, continually seeking improvement and delivering exceptional results.
  • Desire to Work with the Best: Motivated by collaborating with top-tier talent in a high-performance, mission-driven environment.
  • Startup Mindset: Positive, curious, adaptable, and driven to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bias to Action: Comfortable with ambiguity and urgency, with a natural inclination to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
  • Integrity and Trust: A trusted confidant to the founders, able to handle sensitive information and make decisions aligned with Tono's values.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Target Salary: $130,000–$175,000, commensurate with experience
  • Founding-team equity
  • Medical benefits
  • Priority access for your family to leading dermatologist and regular cosmetic nights at our flagship clinic
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-scaling, mission-driven organization
