Company Description
sync. labs is a research driven company modeling how humans perform and interact through video. studio-grade visual dubbing and dialogue editing are the first applications of our work.
we've built the most advanced lipsync and facial reanimation models in the world - accurate enough to hold up on a theatrical screen. our work has shipped on major streaming titles for the studios that made them.
Role Description
your work will directly shape everything sync puts into the world.
you'll work directly with the creative director on a small team at a company scaling fast. ideas get made together, and you will be executing a lot of it; launch films, campaign systems, motion graphics, site builds, with more scope than you'd get anywhere else.
we want someone who thinks about why things look and work the way they do. someone who has strong opinions and judgements about the world around them and the ability to express that. a creative at heart. this is not a role which should feel like work to you, but rather something that you really love doing.
if you can execute a campaign end to end, including design, asset creation, motion graphics, web design and video editing, this is for you. especially if you're already doing it on personal projects nobody asked you to make.

sync. is a research-driven production company built by scientists, artists, and engineers advancing the future of AI video dubbing, video localization, and AI-powered video editing. Our research focuses on generative facial performance: teaching models to understand and manipulate how people look, move, and express themselves on screen. Our journey began in 2019, when our founders built the world’s first zero-shot AI lip sync model capable of syncing lips to any audio on any video without per-speaker training or fine-tuning - Wav2Lip. That breakthrough laid the foundation for the tools we build today, spanning AI video translation, visual dubbing, dialogue replacement, and lip sync API infrastructure for studios and developers. At sync., research and production operate in a tight feedback loop. We improve our models by working on real titles, real localization workflows, and real production constraints, not just benchmarks. What we ship this week informs what the model learns next. Backed by that foundation, we’re building the infrastructure for the next generation of AI video editing, AI dubbing platforms, and global content workflows.Y Combinator W24.
