Blackstone Equity Healthcare (BX-EH) Blackstone Equity Healthcare is seeking an experienced Associate to join its team. This role will focus on driving portfolio company value creation by providing strategic analysis and advising on healthcare benefits, costs, risks, and opportunities. The Associate will play a critical role in engaging with portfolio company leadership, benefits consultants, Blackstone Equity Healthcare team members, external partners, and Blackstone investment professionals. In addition, this individual will act as a critical BX-EH thought leader translating healthcare data and trends into clear and actionable insights that inform BX-EH strategic direction and Blackstone investment decisions. Job Responsibilities: 1. Portfolio Management Collaborate with portfolio company leadership, consultants, and external partners to evaluate value creation opportunities and support informed healthcare decision‑making Engage directly with portfolio company HR and Finance teams to interpret results, respond to questions, and guide strategic decisions Advise portfolio companies on optimal practices including funding options, benefit plan designs, contribution strategies, stop loss structures and M&A harmonization approaches 2. Investment Due Diligence Support Blackstone deal teams in conducting timely healthcare due diligence on proposed investments including baseline cost and risk assessments, and evaluation of actionable value creation opportunities including BX-EH proprietary solutions 3. Portfolio Analytics Serve as a trusted expert to BX-EH colleagues and other partners on portfolio-wide healthcare cost trends and performance drivers Develop and maintain methodologies to measure value creation, trend mitigation, and return on investment while supporting firm-wide reporting Evaluate the financial impact of existing and potential Equity Healthcare initiatives Qualifications Blackstone seeks individuals who demonstrate exceptional judgment, analytical rigor, and a strong track record of performance. The successful candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree required 6+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, actuarial analysis, or a related field 2+ years in a client-facing role preferred Significant experience with self-insured employer sponsored health plans Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to guide decision-making and maintain effective relationships Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working with complex healthcare datasets Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills Superior intellectual curiosity and a strong problem‑solving mindset Highly organized, self‑directed, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced private equity environment The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive and additional assignments, duties, or responsibilities may be required of this position. Expected annual base salary range: $130,000 - $175,000 Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables. Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses.
