The Athletics Media Relations Coordinator assists in all aspects of communication functions for the Department of Athletics, including media relations, website, team sports information assignments and social media initiatives for media relations and Villanova Athletics. All duties must be performed in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Duties And Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily media relations responsibilities for 3-4 assigned sports.
- Assist in the writing, design and production of the media guides for varsity programs.
- Coordinate the social media initiatives for the media relations office including, but not limited to Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Edit all game day programs for football and basketball.
- Assist with the maintenance of the official Athletics Department web site, including basic daily updates and content generation (feature stories, etc.) to enhance the site.
- Oversee the organization and archiving of the digital photo data base for media relations.
- Assist in the game day responsibilities for football and men’s and women’s basketball.
- Coordinate the production of all Athletic Department newsletters, including sports specific publications.
- Responsible for the submission and settlement of all invoices received in the Media Relations area and other clerical duties, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP/Director of Athletics or senior department staff.
Formal Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Desktop publishing experience (ex: Adobe InDesign); familiarity with Stat Crew/ NCAA Live Stats (Genius) software programs; general understanding of a wide range of sports and statistics; up to date knowledge of social media platforms, social media messaging and developing trends in the industry.
- 2-3 years progressive work experience in athletics communications, media relations or a related field.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with personal computer applications.
Specific Job Knowledge:
- Experience with website maintenance and CMS platforms (ex: Sidearm); previous experience managing daily responsibilities for athletic teams or departmental social media accounts.
- Previous sport contact responsibilities at the collegiate level is a plus.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
- Professional work environment.
- Significant night and weekend hours; occasional holiday hours required.
- Some travel required as necessary.
