Job Summary

Own the on-site athletic communications beat by delivering game-day content, live social coverage, and post-event storytelling while mentoring student workers and supporting the department’s web and social channels.

  • Gameday content: photography/video, live updates, and contest stats across social and web feeds.
  • Content production: posters, promos, recruiting materials, and athlete profiles for teams and alumnae.
  • Team leadership: train and supervise student workers, coordinate on-site coverage, and assist with live streams and scorer’s table support.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social media coverage of athletic teams and events, including creation of promotional videos and online profiles of teams, scholar-athletes, and alumnae.
  • Produce creative content for the department including event schedule posters, promotional items, and recruiting materials.
  • Assist Athletic Communications Director with content for www.gobrynmawr.com and social media platforms.
  • Train and supervise game-day student workers for home contests, to support the event, the scorer’s table, and livestream videography.
  • Provide on-site gameday support to the Athletics Communications Director for home contests. In-game responsibilities may include photography and video of the game, live social media coverage and contest statistics.
  • Write and distribute post-contest recaps through various media and social media outlets.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing, English, or other related field.
  • Experience writing game stories and athlete profiles.
  • Experience with NCAA Live Stats and other statistical programs.
  • Knowledge of Sidearm preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design and social media.
  • Background as a collegiate athlete preferred.
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
