Job Description
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage all inbound admission calls from referral sources (hospitals, detox centers, therapists, EAPs, interventionists, insurance providers, and families)
- Conduct initial phone assessments, explain program offerings, verify insurance benefits, and guide callers through the admissions process
- Accurately document all calls, referrals, and client information in the electronic health record system
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key referral sources through regular in-person visits, networking events, and presentations in the local community
- Develop and implement creative outreach strategies to increase referral volume
- Collaborate with clinical and leadership teams to ensure smooth admissions and appropriate level of care placements
- Meet weekly and monthly admission targets
- Stay current on industry trends, insurance requirements, and local treatment resources
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or healthcare admissions/intake (strongly preferred)
- Proven experience in sales, outreach, or relationship-building (healthcare or treatment field experience is a big plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, professional phone presence
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet goals in a hybrid environment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to conduct regular in-person marketing visits locally
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, ASAM criteria, and insurance verification processes is highly desirable
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, marketing, business, or related field
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
