Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Tasks: Review Junior AE and Account Coordinator work, ensuring it meets agency standards and is in near-perfect form for managers, including call agendas, recaps, client-facing flags, and more; Consistently flag timely and relevant newsjack opportunities; take the lead in acting on these rapidly; Write upfronts for monthly reports and finalize trackers and contact books for manager sign-off; Ensure all deliverables, especially those requiring manager sign-off, are fully polished and require minimal revision
  • Strategy Development: Play an active role in the development of client plans and strategies, bringing big ideas and fresh thinking with contributions requiring little to no edits; Participate actively in agency brainstorms and internal strategy sessions; Anticipate account needs and identify opportunities for strategic moments — from day-to-day creative pitch ideation to larger-scale campaigns and activations; Support your manager in leading plan and strategy development; prompt and lead agency brainstorms and internal sessions; Execute and conceptualize campaigns from start to finish
  • Corporate Communications: Maintain a strong pulse on relevant industry awards and conferences; flag opportunities agency-wide and own drafting and submitting Speaker's Bureau and conference applications from start to finish; Participate in executive messaging development, including drafting questions, leading sessions with clients, and capturing key messages post-session; Demonstrate a strong understanding of each client's industry landscape; establish yourself as a subject-matter expert and offer POVs on staying ahead of the competition; Lead executive messaging development and client-facing sessions with confidence; Identify and consistently land thought leadership and founder placements for clients; Review Speaker's Bureau and conference applications drafted by junior team member
  • Events & Partnerships: Conceptualize events from start to finish and own media updates and communication; Be on-site for event setup and execution; manage media and clients on-site and facilitate introductions between media and client contacts; Own sourcing event partners, vendors, and venues, including vetting pricing and availability; Finalize event recaps and invite lists inclusive of media, influencers, and tastemakers, dependent on industry; Serve as the first line of defense and troubleshoot any on-event issues; Identify major collaboration and partnership opportunities; serve as partnership lead across calls, email correspondence, and strategy
  • Media Relations: Demonstrate mastery of the media landscape; showcase strong relationships and consistently deliver top-tier press across digital, broadcast, podcast, newsletters, and more; Own drafting and distributing tailored pitches with little to no edits; review pitches drafted by junior team members; Own drafting press release briefs and press releases; serve as first-line reviewer of press releases drafted by junior team members as needed; Review and refine media lists and briefing documents developed by junior team members; Identify opportunities to create news when there is no news for clients; Continuously refine media relations strategy, ensuring the team delivers smart, on-trend pitches that translate into meaningful coverage; Mentor junior team members on media relations, walking through list building, pitch writing, and next steps; Lead key media announcements, managing up and down to ensure each news moment is a success
  • Client Communications: Own specific sections during client calls; confidently share POVs and build unique, trusted relationships with client teams; Consistently interface with clients in 1:1 settings, including interviews, desk-sides, and events; Serve as the day-to-day client lead, responding quickly to timely requests and solidifying yourself as a go-to resource for the account; Anticipate client needs, delivering on requests before they're asked
  • Mentorship: Serve as a sounding board and resource for Junior Account Executives, Account Coordinators, and Summer Associates, offering advice and counsel to improve their workflows; Directly manage Account Coordinators; take responsibility for their growth at the agency and serve as a guide for their professional development; Lead weekly check-ins with direct reports
  • Agency Growth: Begin participating in new business, joining discovery calls, supporting pitch development, and occasionally joining presentations
