JOB DESCRIPTION

Acceleration is seeking a NYC-based Account Coordinator to help lead a marquee beverage account portfolio with a variety of social, music/entertainment, sports, and lifestyle extensions/campaigns. The position is ideal for someone early in their PR career seeking to join a team who consistently delivers exceptional results through high-quality work.

The Account Coordinator should have a strong understanding of earned media, particularly digital, broadcast, as well as earned influencer engagement, along with a passion for pop culture, current events, and how consumer brands can connect authentically with audiences.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting day-to-day client communications, monitoring and recapping media coverage, keeping projects on track and meeting deadlines, conducting research, developing presentations, and coordinating logistics for client programs and activations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Press monitoring – to monitor and track broadcast and digital coverage tied back to client specific campaigns or major news where the client should be alerted
  • KPI tracking against all PR launches/campaigns and reporting back to team and client
  • Help manage media monitoring agency partner
  • Pitch development to share new campaign and product news with press (tailored for media segments – digital, broadcast)
  • Press and influencer outreach and coordination for campaigns and events
  • Participate in weekly internal team calls, managing agendas in addition to note-taking and listening in on client calls with the team
  • Building media and influencer lists – local and national print, digital, broadcast depending on news of launch
  • Coverage recaps – packaging all results in client ready emails showing impact of the coverage
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trending topics across social media, pop culture, and news – understanding what’s being discussed in the consumer world that may have some significance to the client
  • Creative brainstorming with team for client briefs and additional needs, as required

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Direct Supervisor: This role reports into the Senior Vice President, directly managed by an Account Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill set:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Approximately one year of public relations experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, clients, and external partners
  • Understanding of the media landscape and enthusiasm for building media relationships
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to anticipate needs, adapt quickly, and execute with urgency
  • Accountable and dependable, consistently following through on commitments and keeping the team informed of progress
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as needed

The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience from around $50k - $60k.
