Responsibilities

• Host entertaining, informative, and engaging live trading card breaks for customers both in-store and across digital platforms.
• Serve as a trusted and knowledgeable personality representing the Lids brand within the trading card community.
• Create excitement around product releases, breaks, promotions, hobby news, and collecting opportunities.
• Open trading card products live while ensuring all merchandise and customer-owned collectibles are handled with the highest level of care and professionalism.
• Engage with customers in real-time by answering questions, discussing products, highlighting key pulls, and creating an interactive experience.
• Explain card values, player significance, rookie profiles, parallels, autographs, memorabilia cards, and hobby trends during live breaks.
• Assist in developing innovative break formats, promotions, contests, and customer engagement programs.
• Collaborate with store leadership and collectibles partners to identify desirable products and break opportunities.
• Create and support trading card content for social media, livestreams, in-store events, and customer education initiatives.
• Build relationships with local hobby communities, card shows, collectors, breakers, and enthusiasts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Extensive knowledge of sports cards, Pokémon, trading card games (TCGs), and the collectibles hobby.
• Understanding of hobby box, retail box, blaster, mega box, hanger, premium box, and case break formats.
• Knowledge of single cards, rookie cards, autographs, relics, numbered cards, parallels, inserts, and graded collectibles.
• Familiarity with major manufacturers including Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, Fanatics Collectibles, Pokémon, and Wizards of the Coast.
• Understanding of live breaking culture, group breaks, random breaks, pick-your-team formats, and hobby best practices.
• Working knowledge of grading companies including PSA, Beckett, SGC, and CGC.
• Familiarity with major hobby retailers, marketplaces, and platforms including Dave & Adam's, Blowout Cards, Fanatics Collect, Whatnot, Goldin, eBay, and other hobby ecosystems.
• Understanding of counterfeit detection, product integrity, card condition, and authentication fundamentals.
• Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience in trading cards, collectibles, hobby retail, content creation, livestreaming, broadcasting, or customer-facing entertainment preferred.
• Experience participating in or hosting live breaks strongly preferred.
• Experience with livestreaming platforms such as Whatnot, TikTok Live, YouTube Live, Twitch, Fanatics Live, or similar platforms preferred.
• Personal involvement in collecting, trading, grading, buying, selling, or hobby content creation strongly preferred.
• Background in sales, customer engagement, sports media, retail, or social content creation preferred.
• Familiarity with sports, player performance, prospect development, and hobby market trends preferred.
