Job Summary

Own content production across formats to drive consistent brand storytelling.

  • Content ownership and creation: Develop and edit short and long form content across formats like talking points, web content, social posts, and internal comms.
  • Collaboration & accuracy: Gather information from subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Audience and campaigns: Tailor messaging for customers, employees, stakeholders, and the public; support campaigns and manage multiple projects.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop short and long-form content, including, but not limited to talking points, advertorials, video scripts, speeches, web content, social media posts, and internal employee communications
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in departments throughout the company to gather information and ensure accuracy and relevance of content
  • Tailor content to different audiences, including customers, employees, stakeholders, and the general public
  • Ensure all content aligns with the company's brand, voice, messaging, and communications goals
  • Edit and proofread content to maintain high standards of quality and consistency
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content creation and communications
  • Assist in the development and execution of communications campaigns and initiatives
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a communications role
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong understanding of content creation for various platforms, including digital and print
  • Experience with translating technical concepts into consumer-friendly language
  • Strong project management skills and experience working effectively within and across different teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of organization
  • Undergraduate degree with a major in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field as an added benefit

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Power, Gas, and Utility industries would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media platforms is an asset
