Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Web Strategy, Information Architecture, and User Experience
  • Serve as the primary administrator and strategic lead for the college’s web properties within the University’s content management system.
  • Create, configure, and maintain web content, page layouts, navigation structures, and digital components that support communications and institutional priorities.
  • Develop and maintain information architecture, site taxonomies, navigation systems, and content structures that help audiences find and understand the information they need.
  • Analyze user behavior, navigation patterns, search activity, and website performance to identify opportunities to improve the digital experience.
  • Develop and implement search engine and generative AI optimization strategies, metadata standards, redirect plans, and content optimization practices.
  • Collaborate with college and departmental partners to develop digital experiences that support student recruitment, research visibility, reputation, alumni engagement, and other strategic objectives.
  • Plan and conduct content inventories, website audits, and user experience assessments to identify outdated, duplicative, or ineffective content.
  • Recommend and implement ongoing improvements based on audience needs, analytics, accessibility requirements, and institutional priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design, digital media, communications, information architecture, human-computer interaction, information technology, or a related field.
  • Four years of professional experience in web content management, user experience, digital communications, web administration, or a related area.
  • Experience managing and publishing content within an enterprise content management system.

Preferred

  • Experience working in higher education, research, government, or another large, decentralized organization.
  • Experience managing websites within Drupal or a comparable enterprise content management system.
  • Experience using accessibility and quality assurance tools such as Siteimprove or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization and web content optimization practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web accessibility standards and digital accessibility best practices.
  • Experience conducting accessibility reviews and implementing or coordinating accessibility improvements.
  • Experience using web analytics, website quality assurance tools, or digital performance monitoring platforms.
  • Experience organizing complex web content and improving navigation, information architecture, or user experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with content contributors, technical partners, and stakeholders with differing needs and levels of web expertise.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and digital measurement frameworks.
