Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for web, social, and event use.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify story opportunities and ensure videos align with brand and messaging goals.
  • Manage video assets, including archiving, captioning, and adapting content for different platforms.
  • Lead day-to-day management of official social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Develop and implement content calendars that align with organizational goals and audience interests.
  • Track performance analytics, providing insights and recommendations for growth and engagement.
  • Stay on top of trends, tools, and best practices to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor student ambassadors who assist with social content creation.
  • Provide creative direction, feedback, and support to ensure student-generated content aligns with brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience shooting and editing video.
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience, particularly mentoring or supervising students/interns, preferred.

Preferred

  • Motion graphics or animation experience.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Familiarity with higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven communications.
