Job Summary

Drive MDJ’s social-first video program by editing short-form content with brand-consistent motion graphics and performance-first optimization.

  • Own end-to-end editing for multiple short-form videos per week across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Must-have: 2–3+ years editing for social-first brands with proven performance.
  • Standout: Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and brand-motion guidelines to scale creative.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • 6x short-form videos/week for Instagram, with tailored exports for TikTok, YouTube, and X
  • Thumbnail creation for each video, optimized for platform click-through
  • Imagery sourcing for each video, optimized for the MDJ brand and relevant to the content
  • Light animation and titling for each video to enhance and engage the audience
  • Color grading and audio polishing for each video
  • Edit multiple short-form videos per week with speed and precision
  • Create (and follow existing) series concepts
  • Implement MDJ’s brand identity through motion graphics, text overlays, memes, music selection, and pacing — maintaining consistency while expanding creatively when appropriate
  • Incorporate trending pop culture references, celebrity moments, and entertainment cues when appropriate; select strong backgrounds with thoughtful composition
  • Stay up to date on editing trends and platform best practices, evolving style as needed

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience editing for social-first brands or personalities
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to explore AI tools to streamline the editing process
  • Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent), Photoshop, and After Effects (or Canva motion tools where relevant)
  • Proven track record of producing engaging, high-performing content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Ability to follow and expand on brand guidelines without losing creative flair
  • Strong understanding of pop culture, entertainment news, and social trends
  • Experience sourcing and clearing media assets (images, footage, music)
  • Exceptional organizational skills — able to juggle multiple edits without sacrificing quality
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • Bonus if the candidate can support in capturing content — expertise in cameras, composition, lighting, etc.
