Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Own and define the company’s external-facing strategy, including events, live programming, marketing activations, and advertising. Develop long-term plans to grow audience engagement, revenue, and brand presence through live and experiential initiatives.
  • Event Management: Oversee management and execution of all enterprise wide events. Ensure live programming reflects the company’s editorial voice and high standards. Look for opportunities to grow the events revenue stream and offering types.
  • Marketing & Advertising: Lead external B2B and B2C marketing efforts tied to events, major initiatives, and live programming. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all public-facing platforms. Oversee all advertising strategy and evaluate campaign performance using KPIs and ROI analysis.
  • Editorial & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Editorial leadership to align events and programming with editorial priorities, including on Punchbowl News’ weekly video show, “Fly Out Day”. Develop and manage proactive media strategies to increase the visibility of the organization and its reporters, and to secure talent for live events and content creations.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in live programming, event management, and/or marketing, preferably within a media or entertainment company.
  • Experience working closely with editorial teams and content creators.
  • Strong leadership experience with cross-functional and creative teams.
  • Comfortable representing the company publicly with partners, talent, and industry leaders.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and revenue orientation.
  • Excellent communication and public-facing presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
