Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day management and content creation for SAAS social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo and emerging platforms
  • Maintain a social media content calendar that reflects the rhythm of school life—from performances and athletic competitions to community service projects and Summit events
  • Develop engaging, on-brand content (photos, short-form video, graphics, captions) that captures the spirit of SAAS and resonates with diverse audiences
  • Monitor and engage with followers, respond to comments and inquiries, and foster a positive online community in line with school best practices
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices, bringing fresh ideas to amplify SAAS’s voice
  • In coordination with the Marketing Communications team, capture photos and videos at school events, performances, games, and daily school life for use across digital channels
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments—including Enrollment, Advancement, Athletics, and Arts—to source stories and content opportunities
  • Assist in organizing and managing the school’s digital photo library on Vidigami
  • Create simple graphic design assets (social media graphics, digital flyers, event promotions) that align with SAAS brand guidelines
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) to inform content strategy
  • Monitor basic website analytics (Google Analytics) and contribute insights to improve digital communications
  • Assist in compiling reports that measure the effectiveness of digital content and campaigns
  • In coordination with the Marketing Communications team, support maintenance and content updates of the SAAS website (Finalsite), partnering with departments across the school to keep information accurate and compelling
  • Assist in writing and editing web copy, blog posts, and feature stories that highlight student achievements, faculty perspectives, and school programs
  • Help optimize web content for search engines (SEO) and contribute to strategies that improve site traffic and engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital media, journalism, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience managing social media accounts for an organization, brand, or institution (internship experience counts!)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for storytelling
  • Proficiency across major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social)
  • Basic photography and videography skills; comfort shooting and editing content on a smartphone or camera
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred

  • Experience in an education, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment
  • Basic understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and email marketing platforms
  • Experience with video editing (iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush, CapCut, or similar)
  • A genuine interest in working with adolescents and a school community
